Topic: Arvedui

 Dunedain of the North
Arvedui's eldest son Aranarth took the title Chieftain of the Dunedain and through him the line of Isildur was preserved.
Malbeth made at least two accurate prophecies concerning the future of the line of Isildur.
A second prophecy, made by Malbeth sometime during the reign of Arvedui (1964-1975), spoke of a future Heir of Isildur:

Last to leave was Halvaris, as he begged Sian to come with him, but the Chief felt a doom on the ship, and conselled the King to stay ere the season lengthens, for the Witch-king was still strong.

But to see a man with the manners to try and not look, while knowing things are there to see, makes me far more comfortable than the lecherous looks Arvedui would give me, the wave of lust he had difficulty swallowing.
There could be man no more different from Arvedui.

 Stories of Arda
I thought that Arvedui gave the ring of Barahir to the Chief of the Lossoth, and yet you seem to speak of a king in your story, so I'm a bit confused.
Her Elvish name however is from 'Lost Tales' book one, meaning 'Winter One' it was a nickname for 'Fui Nienna' then the wife of Mandos, later his sister and a much less sinister figure.
It's interesting because I am in the middle of re-reading the Appendices to LotR, and just last night I read the part about Arvedui and the Lossoth, and I thought to myself, "This would make a wonderful tale; I wish someone would write about it." And today I went here and saw this story.

 The Last Golden Branch
“The Long, Twilight Struggle” is a cycle of four stories, telling the tale of Arvedui, the last King of Arthedain (the North-kingdom of the Dúnedain in Eriador) and his wife, the Gondorian Princess Fíriel.
For each of these stories, I have written a short prologue featuring a few well-known LOTR characters to set the scene and make the stories more accessible for those who are not familiar with the background.
The stories will shift between Arthedain and Gondor and will be written in a more or less chronological order.

Arvedui was however heir to the throne of the North-kingdom, but it was prophecied that he would be the last - hence his name.

The claim was rejected after some debate, and the crown given to Eärnil, who was also of the House of Amandil.

The Barrow-Downs Discussion Forum - The out-of-wedlock child
So with this; does the prophecy of Malbeth hint at an untold dark tale of the reign of Arvedui and its disaster from this foray into promiscuity leading to the downfall of Arthedain, yet setting the stage for the Return of the King?
As it was, the crown was given to Eärnil, great-great-grandson of Telumehtar who was the 28th king on the claim Gondor was ruled by the line of Anorien.
The discussion I surmised that might be of value is of the prophecy of Malbeth concerning Arvedui and the rejection of the claim by Gondor (when according to Law; Firiel's children had a legal claim, also evidenced by sister-son descent in the Stewards with Denethor I).
