The last Fitzgerald short story to be made into a full-length film for theatrical release was “Babylon Revisited.” During the final year of Fitzgerald’s life, producer Lester Cowan hired him to write a script for the story, but the project fell through.
The first talking picture made of a Fitzgerald short story was The Pusher-in-the-Face (1929), based on a story by the same name that appeared in Woman’s Home Companion in February 1925.
A 1957 CBS Playhouse 90 version of The Last Tycoon starring Jack Palance is lost.
