Bibliophilia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bibliophilia is the love of books ; a bibliophile is a lover of books.
The classic bibliophile, exemplified by Samuel Pepys, is one who loves to read, admire and collect books, often nurturing a large and specialised collection.
The term bibliophile can also be applied to one who has an obsessive fondeness for books, perhaps amounting to bibliomania.

 Strat's Place - Daniel Rogov - The Bibliophile's Dilemma
It is not enough to know that books exist - there is a need for them to exist in one's own home, as ownership confers on the book lover the right to touch his or her books.
The truest bibliophiles want to own the books they love.
Some book lovers, when considering whether there is a Heaven or a Hell, devote a significant period of time to wondering whether there will be books there.

Bibliophile works from the research collection
The collection consists of bibliophile and private press editions, artists' books, large books of plates, works with special content, books with handcoloured illustrations, limited editions, and so-called 'hell'-books, that is to say prohibited books and erotica.
Although Dutch editions are the greatest in number, there are many foreign bibliophile editions, including works from the small French publisher Guy Lévis Mano, the English Vale Press, and the Berliner Handpresse.
The OPAC is searchable by printer/publisher as well, and it contains detailed descriptions of Dutch bibliophile books from the period 1910-1940.

Bibliophile works from the Depository Collection
That includes publishers of bibliophile works, both big publishers that make the occasional special edition, like the Arbeiderspers did in the 1970s, and publishers specializing in bibliophile editions, such as Bébert.
They had been placed together from the beginning of the Deposit in 1974 and each year some 300 editions are added because publishers supply copies of each of their editions.
History of the collection: In 1987 it was decided to transfer the bibliophile works from the Dutch Deposit Library to the Special Collections.

Literature Lover's Book Of Lists : Serious Trivia for the Bibliophile - Hotel Resource Book Store
This book would've been a "find" if I were in my early teens, but for any adult who considers themselves a bibliophile, this book is just too lightweight.
Like Steven Gilbar's "The Book Book" (see my review), this is a great item to just pick up and open; you're sure to find something interesting in it no matter what page you choose.
Yes, it is about books and literature, but the coverage is extremely shallow.

Guardian Unlimited Books News Bibliophile: May 15
Miniature books offer the advantage that one's entire collection may be carrried about in a lunch box; but in dark moments these despicable little objects seem no proper employment for a grown-up book-person.
· Staggering, as the book fair-eroded Bibliophile may be, under the weight of (for example) Biryukov's edition of War and Peace (Moscow 1912, three volumes, Quarto, about a stone), lower-weight alternatives suddenly seem attractive.

 AfricanKelli :: Bibliophile
If you have nothing to read or a hundred books on your bedside table, consider picking up a Kingsolver.
I’ve loaned both books to a friend, one whose lap I could jump into, one who will always tell me I’m beautiful and one who would slap me silly if I ever looked at heroin.
There have been several times in my life when books were my dearest friends.

 Books The Bibliophile's stone
The mot is absolutely juste, since he goes on to point out that the sale was cancelled when the manuscript material was found to be forged.
Seeing the very same book frequently offered for pennies and pounds, he asks, "Isn't there a little book" - one that tells the true value of everything?
· Yet again on Bibliophile's newsgroup and grumble-exchange comes the distress-call of the tenderfoot bookseller, complaining of the strange disparities in the prices of books offered - and for all one knows, sold - on the web or elsewhere.
