 Boromir
Boromir, the heir of the Steward of Gondor, was a proud and noble Man who fought valiantly in the defense of Gondor and as a member of the Fellowship.
The brothers were quite different in temperament: Boromir was interested mainly in soldierly pursuits while Faramir, though also skilled at arms, was of a gentler nature and was interested in learning and lore.
Boromir spoke to the Council of Gondor's vigilance and the struggle to keep the forces of Mordor from crossing the Anduin.

 GreenBooks.TheOneRing.net™ Moon Letters Boromir's Gift
Boromir lay helpless as terrible images passed swiftly before his mind's eye; the Quest had failed, Frodo would die or be captured without the protection of the Fellowship, and Mordor's evil hand would reach out over the whole of Middle-earth.
Relief such as he had never felt before flooded his weary soul; the sufferings of his family and his people, the years of hardship and sacrifice, the determination to battle the evil at their doorstep and never relent, no matter the cost-it would all be answered one day, in the most glorious manner possible.
Boromir shook his head, with as much strength as he could summon; no words uttered by the human tongue could ease his heart now.

Boromir was merely a man, and the ring was too much for him...
The thing to remember when discussing the role of Boromir is that he reconciled himself magnificently in the end.
Later in the series it's mentioned a few other times, when Faramir discusses Boromir's death with Frodo, and states that it should have been him to go, but Boromir had forced the journey upon himself, and Denathor makes a comment of the same sort.

Boromir was the most likely to give in and to use the Ring to his own advantage.
Boromir wanted to protest, but the expression in Aragorn's eyes was determined and he signaled the hobbits and Dwarf to follow him.
The expression in Boromir's dark eyes seemed haunted and troubled, like he was still struggling against the temptation the Ring presented and maybe the struggle did have a tight hold on him.

Boromir Reforged's shield has clearly less definition in its specific paint application, but more a gradual brown hue.
But when writing this up I noticed that the Lothlorien brooch was exactly the same (non-clip) to that of Legolas' cloaks, and so I checked up and saw that Boromir's new cloak is indeed HD Legolas' (Series 4) cloak with a paint job, minus the quiver.
You will notice that his cloak has a Lothlorien leaf brooch, It is not a clip like that of Pippin/Merry, but akin to the cloaks of Legolas, fastened to the neck.
