 Anor ah Ithil
But when he heard the further tragedy of Melkor's murder of Finwë and theft of the Silmarils, Fëanor resolved to return to Middle-earth in pursuit of Melkor, defying the Valar and swearing the terrible Oath of Fëanor, by which he, his sons, and Beleriand were later doomed.
But at last, desiring to keep his beloved Lúthien from Beren, he demanded a Silmaril as her bride price, and thus was drawn into the Doom of the Noldor.
Even though he saw through the plots of Melkor, Fëanor remained distrustful of the Valar and grew excessively fond of the Simlarils; when the Two Trees were poisoned he refused to give up the Silmarils which preserved their light.

 Maeglin
He was tall and black-haired; his eyes were dark, yet bright and keen as the eyes of the Noldor, and his skin was white.
There he lived in deep shadow, loving the night and the twilight under the stars.
Now Eöl returned out of the east sooner than Maeglin had foreseen, and found his wife and his son but two days gone; and so great was his anger that he followed after them even by the light of day.

 Realms of Beleriand
And so the fate of Beleriand became wrapped in the Jewels of Fëanor.
The following is an account of the realms of the Elves of Beleriand.
All the realms of Beleriand have been accounted for save one, and that was the realm of Morgoth.

 Middle-earth
He then slew their father, king Finwë and stole the Silmarils, three gems crafted by Fëanor that contained light of the Two Trees, from his vault, and destroyed the Trees themselves.
Melkor was exiled into the Void; and most of his works destoyed.
These languages were related, and a Common Eldarin form ancestral to them both postulated.

A woodland realm to the east of Beleriand, lying between the Blue Mountains and the River Gelion.
The mighty thundering falls of the River Sirion, where its waters fall beneath the earth and flow under the hills of the Andram for nine miles before emerging again.
Whether in the shadow of Angband or beneath the trees of Doriath, the Armouries and Smithies of Beleriand are many and their produce wide and diverse.

 Dwarf
This was Eöl, the Dark Elf of Nan Elmoth, who travelled often to the dwarf-cities in the Blue Mountains, and who took also his son Maeglin during his youth.
This event is dated only as 'during the second age of the Captivity of Melkor', which would place it (approximately) between 3,000 and 6,000 years before the beginning of the First Age.
These fortress-cities are better known by the Elvish versions of their names: Belegost and Nogrod.
