The Reading Room Lord of the Rings Reading and Writing Workshop
Eldacar looked up the hill, and felt his hopes fall even farther.
The dark haired lady was gazing at him curiously, as though questioning his own steady gaze.
"My father has never been so attentive to me as he was that day," Eldacar said bitterly, "One heir was lost to him, it was time to groom another." He paused, trying to force away his bitterness, or at least to hide it.

And widen in wonder upon sight of Eldacar and his knights.
If you send him, I would suggest he be accompanied by several trusted men..." The tilt of his chin and the carefully dropped manner of the words indicate that Korihor considers himself to be among those trusted.
Finding the battle quite lost, Ringenaur kneels before Eldacar, not far from the limp body of his elder brother.

With Eldacar gone Castamir assumed the throne, proving himself a cruel and tyrannical King, putting to death Ornendil, the son and heir of Eldacar.
From his base at Pelargir, Castamir held power over all the sea-ward regions of Gondor and saw himself as the inheritor of the proud legacy of Númenor.
Eldacar though eluded capture, fleeing north to his kinsmen in Rhovanion.

 Castamir the Usurper
The great-grandson of the unremarkable king Calmacil, Castamirs line was not in line for the throne, but his royal background had made him the Lord of Ships under the previous king, Valacar.
The aptly named "Usurper", usurped the throne of Gondor from Eldacar, ruling from 1437 to 1447 of the Third Age, until he was violently deposed.
As King Valacar's only son, Eldacar was the legitimate heir to the throne, but his half Rhovanion lineage angered citizens who believed that pure Númenórean blood must be maintained.

 Eldacar Geoner ap Dougal
Though a highly responsible Count, Eldacar has devoted a great deal of attention to his county seat, the freehold Caer Duhn; it is a highly elaborate complex of buildings, which most of Ivoryweald's nobles (and no small number of its commoners) call home.
By mortal standards, Count Eldacar is not young; by fae standards, he is positively ancient.
Name in Fae Society: Count Eldacar Geoner ap Dougal
