Ñoldor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Argon, the third son of Fingolfin, does not appear in the published Silmarillion at all.
When the Ñoldor led by Fingolfin discovered their betrayal, they went farther north and crossed the sea by means of the Grinding Ice.
However, even if they had been allowed to return to life, it is not likely that they regained the title.

 Fingolfin
Fingolfin, second son of Finwe, was the high king of the Noldor in Middle-earth after the death of Feanor at Dagor-nuin-Giliath, 'Battle Under the Stars.' He and his people followed reluctantly after Feanor in the pursuit of Morgoth after the theft of the Silmarils.
Though not completely without blame for the Kinslaying, Fingolfin and his people were less to blade for the Doom of the Noldor and they held a burning anger against the sons of Feanor.
On the road to Middle-earth after they were abandoned by Feanor and his sons in Araman and survived the Grinding Ice of Helcaraxe in order to reach the coast of Middle-earth as the Moon rose for the first time and come upon Feanor's people in their time of need.

 09-01-00: Fingolfin the Greatest? Absolutely!
Fingolfin had no such bride to win nor such a faith in which to find comfort; he was cursed by the Oath of Feanor and were he to die, there could be no guarantee of his soul resting in Eldamar - the oath that bound him forfeited that privilege (even if only in his mind).
Fingolfin's challenge to Morgoth is made in the bleak but very real prospect of a Middle Earth held hostage forever by an unalterably evil Vala, Morgoth.
Mark S. Anyone doubting the 'greatness' of Fingolfin need only compare his situation with that of the other would-be 'greats'.

Morgoth went ever halt of one foot after that day, and the pain of his wounds could not be healed; and in his face was the scar that Thorondor made.
He passed over Dor-nu-Fauglith like a wind amid the dust, and all that beheld his onset fled in amaze, thinking that Oromë himself was come: for a great madness of rage was upon him, so that his eyes shone like the eyes of the Valar.
But the earth was all rent and pitted about him, and he stumbled and fell backward before the feet of Morgoth; and Morgoth set his left foot upon his neck, and the weight of it was like a fallen hill.
