Encyclopedia of Arda: Hill of Himring
After the Return of the Noldor, Maedhros the eldest son of Fëanor came to the hill, and built the greatest of his citadels on its flat summit.
That citadel stood for many centuries, and withstood the onset of the Dagor Bragollach, that swept away many of the Elves' forces and defences.
From this cold place sprang the river known as Little Gelion, one of two sources that came together to form the long river Gelion that bordered East Beleriand.

And then I feel the hot tears begin to slide down my cheeks, despite my desperate attempts to hold them back, and I fall helpless into his arms and he holds me close, rocking me gently and whispering loving words into my ear, while I lay my head against his shoulder and sob.
Today we will begin our return journey, the long, slow ride across pine-clad Dorthonion to east Beleriand and my March, back to the fortress my people have constructed on the lonely hill of Himring.
It is a barren, windswept place, rising above its fellows to take the full force of the north wind - like me. Winter's snows will be arriving soon, and once again my household will complain of the drafts that, despite our careful construction, somehow always manage to find their way into the halls and rooms.

 #393: Himring
Himring, however, has an easier auto-attack than most of them.
There are also some nasty events that can hit you like Drowning Seas, Wind of Wrath (you though you were going to Himring but instead you went to Urlurtusu Nurn), Noose of the Sea, Storms of Osse, Lost at Sea, etc.
So in all, Himring is a good site for a Rivendell deck which would rather have a fight with a weak creautre than a big one.

 Himring
Himring is a hill in J.R.R. Tolkien 's universe of Middle-earth in the northeast of Beleriand, on which was the fortress of Maedhros, eldest of the Sons of Fëanor.
The fortress on Himring was built when the Sons of Fëanor went east after Thingol became aware of the Kinslaying.
It stood firm through the Dagor Bragollach, and many survivors from the surrounding regions, including Maedhros' brother Maglor, rallied there.

 Beleriand
The element Beler / Balar is believed to refer to the Maia Ossë, who often dwelt at the shores of Balar.
The land of Nevrast in the northwest was sometimes considered part of Beleriand.
To the west and south it had a long shore with the Great Sea Belegaer, to the north were the highland regions of Hithlum, Dorthonion and the hills of Himring, to the east the Ered Luin (Blue Mountains) reached nearly to the sea.

Therefore the march-wardens said to Aredhel: 'To the land of Celegorm for which you seek, Lady, you may by no means pass through the realm of King Thingol, you must ride beyond the Girdle of Melian, to the south or to the north.
There dwell, as we believe, Celegorm and Curufin, and it may be that you will find them; but the road is perilous.'
The speediest way is by the paths that lead east from the Brithiach through Dimbar and along the north-march of this kingdom, until you pass the Bridge of Esgalduin and the Fords of Aros, and come to the lands that lie behind the Hill of Himring.
