Pellucidar - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Hollow Earth milieu of Skartaris in the Warlord series of comic books by Mike Grell, published during the same period, is essentially a translation of Pellucidar into the graphic medium, with the admixture of magic and elements of the Atlantis myth.
In a notable crossover event between Burroughs' series, there is a Tarzan story in which the Ape Man finds his way into Pellucidar.

 ERBmania! - PELLUCIDAR
Pellucidar has one other distinction in all the ERB canon: it is the site of a cross-over story between the inner world of David Innes and the outer world of Tarzan of the Apes.
The final tales of Pellucidar, one of which was first published in 1964, nearly fifteen years after ERB's death.
At The Earth's Core, first published in 1914, begins a seven novel saga that spanned Edgar Rice Burroughs' writing career, having a special distinction that the final chapter of Pellucidar was not published during the author's lifetime--and was in fact published fourteen years after his death.

Thus there is no gravity on Pellucidar, except that provided by the "small sun" (which is apparently just a hot mass and not a true star).
Indeed, you are the secret savior in the story, a man (always a man) bound for otherworldly glory.

I felt that if she could return to her own kind with the story of her adventures, the position of the human race within Pellucidar would be advanced immensely at a single stride, for at once man would take his proper place in the considerations of the reptilia.
The tides of Pellucidar don't amount to much by comparison with our higher tides of the outer world, but I knew that it ought to prove ample to float the Sari.
CHAPTER I LOST ON PELLUCIDAR The Arabs, of whom I wrote you at the end of my last letter (Innes began), and whom I thought to be enemies intent only upon murdering me, proved to be exceed- ingly friendly--they were searching for the very band of marauders that had threatened my existence.

Burroughs also wrote popular science fiction/fantasy stories involving Earthly adventurers transported to various planets (notably Barsoom, Burroughs' fictional name for Mars), lost islands, and into the interior of the hollow earth in his Pellucidar stories, as well as westerns and historical romances.

Following the appearance of these pages in HI-SPOT #2, Western asked John Coleman Burroughs to write and draw two six-page stories of DAVE INNES OF PELLUCIDAR, which would be worked into one of their comic books, possibly SUPER comics.
By late 1939, with both TARZAN and JOHN CARTER OF MARS earning royalties from comic books, the next natural Burroughs series to adapt to the comics would be his Pellucidar stories.
There is a natural redundancy in these pages as presented here because the eight pages (the end of the 20-page story which did not appear in HI-SPOT #2) had never appeared and the two new stories had to include an introductory synopsis of how Dave Innes got to Pellucidar.
