The many plant errors in the biology teaching literature is another sign of plant neglect.
The observation that although people see a lot of pennies during their lifetimes they cannot draw an accurate picture of a penny is not directly relevant to the situation with plants.
There seems to be no good reason why an entertaining natural history or science TV series on plants would not be successful.

Robert Plant - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Plant enjoyed great success with the band throughout the 1970s, and at one point during the height of his hubris said to a reporter "I am the Golden God!" This hubris was cut short when Plant and wife Maureen were seriously injured in a car crash in Rhodes, Greece on August 4, 1975.
Today, in addition to his own post-Zeppelin work, Plant continues his occasional collaborations with his former bandmate Jimmy Page.
Plant still actively tours, most recently in Europe, Fall 2005 with His Strange Sensation.

The Devonian period also saw the evolution of what many believe to be the first modern tree, Archaeopteris.
Indeed, any attempt to match "plant" with a single taxon is doomed to fail, because plant is a vaguely defined concept unrelated to the presumed phylogenic concepts on which modern taxonomy is based.
Most familiar are the multicellular land plants, called embryophytes.

As a result, there are many books still in print that use the older definition, as well as newer books that use a more recent definition.
In particular, bacteria, algae, and fungi are no longer considered plants by botanists (see definition 1 or 2), though they are still called plants by ecologists (see definition 3) because of their shared ability to carry out photosynthesis.
