Are You Afraid Of The Dark is no exception, it is a typical Sheldon book in style, with fresh scenery and characters, not a deep and thought provoking work of art but rather a pleasant respite from our own mundane worlds.
This is the silliest, most juvenile book ever, written in short, staccato sentences and I find it difficult to believe that it was even written by Sidney Sheldon.
Although it had a good plot, the characters were really sucky and obvious.

A few chapters in I found myself wondering if the author had actually written this book himself, or just dictated the plot to his 10 year old nephew and had him write it for him - the writing really is that poor.
After a four year wait since 'The Sky Is Falling', this has to be his worst book yet, with an utterly predictable, laughable plot and characters that struggle to be even one-dimensional.

the only problem i can see with this book is if you have happened to read a previous sidney sheldon book you might well know how it turns out.
It's easy to read and you fly through the pages (which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 - I read it in a day), but so are Mills and Boon books and a lot of them have a more interesting plot than this book.
