The Fellowship of the Ring - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Behind the events that befall the Ring-Bearer and the Fellowship, the reader begins to sense, there lurks always a sense of Destiny, and in the end, it will be a concatenation of the effects spawned by the nature of Good itself, that undoes Evil.
It is divided into two books, Book I and II.
The first sets the stage for the adventure and follows Frodo Baggins as he flees from his home in the Shire to escape the minions of the Dark Lord Sauron.

ClassicNotes: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Book I, Chapters 1-4
This is on account of a magic ring that he has obtained in an adventure (that is described in detail in Tolkien's book, The Hobbit).
The ring has to be destroyed or else the Middle Earth remains in perpetual peril of Sauron - for he can do great evil with the power of the ring and basically enslave the Free People, hobbits and elves included.
The ring, a symbol for the power of evil, an image of power and an archetypal gift that represents both hope and fate (inheritance) remains at the center of our attention.

MSN Encarta - The Fellowship of the Ring
The Fellowship of the Ring, motion picture based on the first book of the Lord of the Rings trilogy by British author J.
Bilbo’s friend, the wizard Gandalf ( Ian McKellen), persuades him that dark forces are pursuing the ring, and that the safest thing is to let Bilbo’s nephew, Frodo (Elijah Wood), travel to the mountain where the ring was forged and destroy it forever.
The film covers the first third of the larger story, which concerns a powerful ring that has passed through the ages, finally coming into the possession of an unassuming hobbit named Bilbo Baggins (played by Ian Holm).

Amazon.co.uk: Books: The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring Vol 1 (The Lord of the Rings)
This book, as is implied in the title, is the story of his journey with his companions and the Ring through contries ranging from the darkness and terror of Moria to the beauty and light of Lothlorien.
It is very interesting to learn about all the characters and the book tells of many exciting tales in the history of Elves, Men and Gods.
It is soon apparent, despite the gently mocking humour of the first chapter, however, that this book is, unlike the previous work, one in which dark forces are becoming greater than good, and in which the world is heading for a 'Second Darkness' despite all the efforts of the great ones such as Gandalf.

Sorry for this show of affection, but Ian McKellen said this was how they did it in the book.

The "Dark Riders" of Social Change: a challenge for any Fellowship of the Ring
But there is a strange symmetry to Tolkien's tale, for in many ways the Fellowship of the Ring was itself forged as an alliance of disparate peoples to harmonize the destabilizing forces of Middle Earth.
The considerable shadow energy of the psyche, is seen in Alberich's evil reaction to rejection, in Wotan's awful betrayal of Youth and Beauty (Freia) to build his castle; in his stripping Brünnhilde of her immortality and his imprisoning her in the ring of fire in order to regain the ring of power.
Tolkien provides a revealing insight into the nature of the rings and their powers: "The chief power (of all the rings alike) was the prevention or slowing of decay (i.e.

Review: Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
Sauron's servants, the Ring Wraiths, are scouring Middle Earth for it, since, when it is returned to their master, nothing will be able to stop him.
The strength of Jackson's vision as depicted in The Fellowship of the Ring gives movie-goers cause to hope that we may be in the midst of a cinematic achievement.
Lord of the Rings devotees will be delighted to learn that the motion picture adaptation is as faithful as one could imagine possible (and, consequently, is nearly three hours in length).

 The Hero Is a Hobbit
Tolkien is fortunate in possessing an amazing gift for naming and a wonderfully exact eye for description; by the time one has finished his book one knows the histories of Hobbits, Elves, Dwarves and the landscape they inhabit as well as one knows one's own childhood.
Tolkien has succeeded superbly, and what happened in the year of the Shire 1418 in the Third Age of Middle Earth is not only fascinating in A. 1954 but also a warning and an inspiration.
eventeen years ago there appeared, without any fanfare, a book called "The Hobbit" which, in my opinion, is one of the best children's stories of this century.

The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien, fantasy book
Frodo Baggins knew they were seeking him and the Ring he bore - the Ring of Power that would enable evil Sauron to destroy all that was good in Middle-earth.
Now it is up to Frodo and his faithful servant, Sam, with a small band of companions, to carry the Ring to the one place it could be destroyed - Mount Doom, in the very center of Sauron's dark kingdom.
There's no disputing that The Lord of the Rings (LOTR) is one of the most important and influential works of fantasy ever written.

Along with The Two Towers and The Return of the King it makes up one of the greatest books of all time.
The histories folklore and legends upon which were touched so briefly in The Hobbit come to the fore and tantalizing glimpses into the lands and peoples of Middle-Earth &; both of the past and the present begin to appear.
he Fellowship of the Ring marks the first volume of the collection of books making up The Lord of The Rings and marks the beginning of Frodo's thrilling adventure across Middle-Earth from the sleepy safety of The Shire to Mount Doom in the very heart of Sauron's might - Mordor.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
It is not the book but a reading of the book which is inventive and fascinating.
Silly really; as silly as claiming that `The Lord of the Rings' is the greatest book ever written.
He focuses on the corrupting influence of the ring and, through this focus, the character of the chief protagonists of the story are revealed.

DVD Verdict Review - The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring: Special Extended Edition
The bulk of the added content—and I do mean bulk—is located on Discs Three and Four of the set, together titled "The Appendices" (after the codas to Tolkien's books).
Not since Shakespeare had a single author (assuming you believe the literary "William Shakespeare" was in fact a single person, but that's a conversation for another time) so firmly established a cast of characters and a sense of place in English literature, or indeed in English-speaking culture.
The character of Galadriel (Cate Blanchett, The Gift), in particular, receives more face-time and dialogue.

Book Review: Fellowship of the Ring
As the story begins, a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins of Bag End is in possession of a magical ring.
It's a story of a magical ring which possesses powers unheard of that change everything.
The Fellowship of the Ring, the first of The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J. Tolkien, is a great epic on its own.

The Fellowship of the Ring (John's Book Pages)
book 1 of The Lord of the Rings
The Fellowship of the Ring begins the story of Frodo's quest to destroy the One Ring, the source of the dark lord Sauron's power.
The things that I didn't like the first time I read The Lord of the Rings -- the amazing detail and historical background -- are the things that make it worth rereading.

The Fellowship of the Ring - J. R. R. Tolkien book review
I just finished it and I'm about to start on the second book, The Towers, or something like that and I hope it is as good as the Fellowship has been.
I recommend that everyone should read this book if they possibly can.
It creates a fantasy world that you know can't exsist but sometimes through the book you have to remind yourself.
